The fishing down in the Everglades has been very good over the last few weeks.  We have been lucky to also have some good weather, which always makes it a little bit easier.
The big tarpon showed up this week with the calmer winds and warm temps.  They will be active in between the cold fronts that blow through every few days.  The fishing outfront on the flats has been excellent.  There has been alot of redfish and snook laying around in  the shallow water.  Always alot of fun sight fishing those guys with a fly rod or spin rod.
I still have a few days open for the rest of this year and a few scattered days going into next year.  If you want to get out for a day or two in the Everglades, just give me a call or email and we will set it up!

The snook fishing in the backcountry has been excellent.  Lots of fish around of all sizes.  I have taken my Jon boat as far back as we can go and there has been lots of action of snook, redfish, and baby tarpon.
I have plenty of dates open over the next few weeks and into the Fall.    Fishing has been great, so give me a call or email and lets fish!

The redfishing, snook, and baby tarpon fishing has been on fire on the lower stages of the tides.  We have been sightfishing these guys and they have been a ton of fun.  This is definitely the time of year for a slam!
As we move into the Fall, the fishing should only get better with the push of bait down the Gulf Coast.  Give me a call or  email to get out on the water!  Best part about this time of year is we rarely see another boat all day!

The fishing continues to be very good out of Flamingo  There has been a big push of bait through the Everglades which has brought a lot of fish south chasing them.  The tarpon have been around hanging in the creeks and rivers ambushing bait as it flows in and out on the tides.  These fish have been in the 30lb-70lb class.  A great fish on the fly or light tackle!
The snook fishing remains very good.  They have been everywhere from the way backcountry to the Gulf Coast.  There has also been some redfish mixed in with these schools of snook.
I still have some dates open for the end of the year.  This can be some great fishing with some giant tarpon moving in the backcountry on good weather days.
My spring Tarpon Season is filling up so let me know if you want some prime dates this upcoming spring.

Next to our Spring season, this is by far the BEST time to fish in the Everglades. This is what I call our second Tarpon season. Nobody on the water, unlike the spring and there are lots of tarpon around that are usually very aggressive. Most of the fish are between 30lbs.-60lbs. In my opinion, that is the best size fish to catch. Once we get a push of bait, then some of the really big tarpon move in. That is usually later this month. Don’t miss out on some incredible fishing this month!

The snook fishing has also been very good. We have caught them literally all over the Everglades, from deep in the backcountry to the Gulf Coast. Recently, the baby tarpon fishing has been incredible. Lots of little guys roaming around the backcountry. Should be a great sign for things to come!

Give me a call and let’s get out on the water.

September is great month in the Everglades.  There are plenty of tarpon and snook around.  I have also been hearing about some great tailing redfish outfront on the flats.  It is definitely some of the best fishing of the year.

Hope everyone is off to a good year.  The fishing in the Everglades has been very good over the last few weeks.  There has been a bunch of  smaller snook and baby tarpon around, which is a great sign for our future.  We did have a few warm days over the last 2 weeks and the big tarpon showed up in major numbers.  In between these fronts, if it warms enough and the wind lays down, you could have some great tarpon fishing.  This all based around the weather.

Since we have had a relatively dry season, the water levels are low and the bass fishing on the freshwater side of the Everglades has been excellent.  It is not uncommon to have 100 fish days on fly and this a great way to get introduced to the fly rod.

The snook fishing has been outstanding.  Hoards of little guys very eager to eat a fly or plug.  All the way from the backcountry to the Gulf Coast.  Finding moving water has been key to finding the snook.  Plugging along on the smaller snook, we have encounter some big mixed in.  These fish have been slot size snook.

The fishing has been excellent out of Flamingo.  Give me a call or email to get out on the water!

You can definitely start feeling that Fall is in the air down here in South Florida.  The humidity is down and we are going to start to see some cold fronts blow through every few days.  The fishing in the backcountry has been very good over the last week or so.  There are some bigger tarpon hanging around especially with the bait that is all over the Everglades.  The pattern for tarpon over the next couple of months will have them moving in and out of the Everglades based on water temperature.  As long as it stays warm they will be tarpon somewhere.
The snook and redfishing in the backcountry will only get better and its been good!  More and more fish will move into the backcountry as the water temperature drops.  Some of my favorite fishing of the year.
I will be running some trips out of Jon boat to some very remote areas in the Everglades, fishing for snook, redfish, and baby tarpon.  That style of fishing should really turn on in the next few weeks.

We finally might be seeing some signs of some cooler weather.  Of recent it has felt like summer down here in late October.  The reason why people move to South Florida is the fall and winter weather we are lucky to have.  Fishing in the Everglades in the Fall and winter is about as good as it gets.  The weather is absolutely beautiful with cool mornings and no humidity.  Fishing in the backcountry for snook, baby tarpon, and redfish really turns on when the temps cool of a bit.  Being a full time Everglades fishing guide is important, as I am available  everyday I am not already booked.  You do not want to fish with a part time guide because they are not on the water daily to see the changes that happens daily.

Between the cold fronts over the next few months, the big tarpon fishing can be some of the best fishing of the year.  The bigger fish will move in and out of the Everglades with the weather.  This is a great time to tarpon fish as these will not get a lot of pressure.  Looking forward to next few months.
