Over the last few weeks the snook fishing has been on fire. Lots of little guys but there has been some bigger fish mixed in. This is the time of year where it starts to dry out in the Everglades and is the end of our rainy season. So that means there is a lot of freshwater flowing through the National Park, especially since it has been an extremely rainy summer. The fishing in backcountry really turns on when there is a good mix of fresh and salt water. That is why it is so important to get a steady southern flow of freshwater down to Everglades National Park. This will only help the fishing in the backcountry of the Everglades.
The tarpon fishing also remains strong. Lots of fish around 40lbs-60lbs hanging around eating the schools of bait that are everywhere. They should hang around until we start getting our cold fronts which should happen over the next couple of weeks.
Some great Fall fishing is ahead for us, so give me a call to get out on the water!
