Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!! It has been a great year of
fishing and I want to truly thank everyone that spend time on my
skiff in 2016. I thoroughly love my job and the people I get to share
the Everglades with. The tarpon fishing this year has been by far the
best year yet. We have jumped and landed more tarpon this year than
any other!!! I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for us.
This past week of fishing is the epitome of tarpon fishing in the
winter. It’s all about the conditions. Thursday was calm and hot and
we hooked into 8 giant tarpon. A front blew through on Friday
morning, the water temperatures dropped and the tarpon were gone.
This will be the pattern for the next few months until the fronts
stop. Good thing though, there is always something to catch in the
Everglades!
Again, a huge thank you for a great 2016! I have some of days open in
2017, so come experience great weather and fishing in the Everglades!!
