I was fishing out of Flamingo, Everglades National Park all of last week. It has been warm in South Florida, so there has been plenty of tarpon hanging around gorging on the loads of bait in the backcountry. These fish are in the 50-80lb class range. They will hang around until a cold front blows through the Everglades.
The snook fishing has been outstanding. Hoards of little guys very eager to eat a fly or plug. All the way from the backcountry to the Gulf Coast. Finding moving water has been key to finding the snook. Plugging along on the smaller snook, we have encounter some big mixed in. These fish have been slot size snook.
The fishing has been excellent out of Flamingo. Give me a call or email to get out on the water!
