I have been fishing out of Flamingo in Everglades National Parkall week and the fishing remains outstanding. There has been lots of snook caught this week on both fly and plugs. The key to finding these fish is moving water around structure. It is not uncommon to find those two variables and catch 15-20 snook out of that one area. They have been eating white flies and baitfish pattern flies. On the spin side, can’t go wrong with a MirroDine from Mirror-Lure.
One day this week, we decided to do a little sightfishing in the backcountry when the tide was low. We had some great shots at big snook and ended up getting a 31 inch snook on fly. This is a good sign for things to come for fishing the Everglades.
