I hope everyone had a great Holiday weekend with friends and family! We have had some great weather in the Everglades with some even better fishing. The snook fishing in the backcountry has been absolutely outstanding. There are lots of smaller fish around and some bigger ones mixed in. It is not uncommon to catch 30-40 in a day throw plugs or flies. There is still a lot of freshwater in the backcountry which is great for the fishery.
There has also been some pretty good baby tarpon fishing. These fish are in the 5-10lb range and pretty aggressive. The big ones are slowly starting to show up and once we have some light winds and warm mornings, we will definitely be chasing them. We usually get a good push of big tarpon about mid-December. Just keep an eye on the weather!
