I hope everyone had a great holiday season and Happy New Year!  2025 was a great year and I want to thank everyone who fished with me.  Looking forward to another great year on the water!  Fishing down in Flamingo has been pretty darn good lately with the warmer weather we have had.  There have been a bunch of BIG tarpon in the backcountry on some of those warmer days.  I think we are in for a good year of snook fishing due to the drier conditions.  When the water falls in the backcountry, there are less places for them to hide.  It looks like we are on the way to having a drier winter down here and  that also bodes well for our peacock and Largemouth bass.
I am excited for what’s to come in the next few months,  I feel it is going to be a great year of fishing,  Give me a call or respond to this email to get out on the water!!!!

This time of year is definitely a favorite for me.  I call this the second tarpon season of the year.  There are plenty of fish around and most days you have the entire place to yourself.  I think the last few trips we haven’t seen a boat all day.
The tarpon fishing has been very good with fish in the 30-60 lb range.  We have taken advantage of the calm mornings that we have had.  Getting out early is always important this time of year as the tarpon are extremely active in the morning.
The baby tarpon, snook, and redfish have also been very good this summer.  This is a great time for an Everglades slam (Tarpon, Redfish, and Snook)  which sometimes can be done at the same spot.
I just got back from a week of fly fishing for trout on the Green River in Utah with some great friends.  The fishing was incredible and the River was beautiful.  Looking forward to doing that again soon!

It has been a while since my last report and just wanted to let everyone know what is going on in the Glades.  The tarpon fishing has been excellent.  Alot of fish between 40-60 lbs. around and they have been very snappy!   We have hooked alot of fish on fly and plugs over the last few months or so.  It amazes me with how good the fishing is that we rarely see another boat all day.
The snook fishing and tailing redfishing has also been very good.  Florida Bay has definitely bounced back from the sea grass die off back in 2015.  We have gotten plenty of shots each day on tailing fish.  It has been fun to see the comeback!
I have plenty of days open this time of year and this is some of the best fishing in South Florida right now with complete isolation!

Alot of craziness going on in the world at the moment. Everything is closing down including a lot of the ramps in South Florida. Flamingo has been closed down for a few weeks now, so the only access into Everglades National Park is through Everglades City and Chokoloskee. The good thing is the park waters remain open. I will be fishing out of EC or Chokoloskee until Flamingo opens back up. I have had most of my trips in April cancelled due to travel restrictions and closures. If you are local and want to get out for a day on the water in complete isolation, give me a call or email. Here is what has been going in the Everglades the last few weeks-

I hope everyone is off to a great 2020. This fishing in the Everglades has been very good from the flats to deep in the backcountry. It has been great seeing some tailing redfish on the flats outfront of Flamingo. I haven’t seen that since the seagrass die off we had in 2015.

The baby tarpon and snook fishing has also been very good on the cooler days when there hasn’t been any bigger tarpon to throw at. This is the time of year when it warms up, the big tarpon flood the backcountry and can be some epic fishing. I am definitely looking forward to some of that action!

I don’t have many days open this spring but the summer can be just as good as the spring for big tarpon. Give me a call or email to spend a day in the Everglades!

First off, I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday and Happy New Year!  It has been a great year and I want to THANK everyone who has fished with me this past year!  I am very thankful to be able to share the Everglades with everyone who steps on the skiff.
The fishing has been very good this past month.  The snook have been everywhere from the flats to the far reaches of the backcountry.  When the weather allows, we have been able to sight fish some big snook and plenty of redfish.
The bigger tarpon have made an appearance during the warmer days between the fronts.  That will be the pattern until we get some consistent warm weather.  The baby tarpon fishing has been excellent.  Lots and lots of these guys all over the place, which is great to see.
Last but not least, the water levels are dropping in the northern part of the Everglades, which means the bass fishing is starting to heat up.  It is not uncommon to have 100+ fish days in the remote areas of the Everglades for bass, peacock bass, and other exotics.
My spring months are starting to fill up, so give me a call or email to get on the water!

It has been a great month of fishing in the Everglades. Plenty of bigger tarpon still hanging around with the warmer weather and loads of bait all over the Everglades. With our first cold front of the year approaching, the bigger tarpon will move in and out of the Everglades on the water temperature. When everything lines up, it can be some incredible tarpon fishing.

The snook fishing continues to be great and we have found some bigger fish on the Gulf coast and inside the backcountry. The same goes for the redfish, finding them both on the Gulf coast and inside. There are plenty of little ones roaming all over the Everglades, which is great to see.

My tarpon season is filling up, so send me an email or give me a call!

The fishing down in the Everglades has been very good lately.  The tarpon have been extremely thick with the bait almost everywhere.  We have found creek mouths with bait pouring out of them and tarpon doing backflips on the bait.  It has been pretty cool to see it.  Those fish have not been easy to hook but we have managed a few bites while watching the display of the tarpon doing their thing.

The sight fishing has also been really good lately for redfish and snook.  A bunch of fish outfront on the flats and also on the Gulf coast.

The overall fishing has been very good in the Everglades and should continue throughout the Fall.

Give me a call or email

The fishing continues to be very good out of Flamingo  There has been a big push of bait through the Everglades which has brought a lot of fish south chasing them.  The tarpon have been around hanging in the creeks and rivers ambushing bait as it flows in and out on the tides.  These fish have been in the 30lb-70lb class.  A great fish on the fly or light tackle!
The snook fishing remains very good.  They have been everywhere from the way backcountry to the Gulf Coast.  There has also been some redfish mixed in with these schools of snook.
I still have some dates open for the end of the year.  This can be some great fishing with some giant tarpon moving in the backcountry on good weather days.
My spring Tarpon Season is filling up so let me know if you want some prime dates this upcoming spring.

Next to our Spring season, this is by far the BEST time to fish in the Everglades. This is what I call our second Tarpon season. Nobody on the water, unlike the spring and there are lots of tarpon around that are usually very aggressive. Most of the fish are between 30lbs.-60lbs. In my opinion, that is the best size fish to catch. Once we get a push of bait, then some of the really big tarpon move in. That is usually later this month. Don’t miss out on some incredible fishing this month!

The snook fishing has also been very good. We have caught them literally all over the Everglades, from deep in the backcountry to the Gulf Coast. Recently, the baby tarpon fishing has been incredible. Lots of little guys roaming around the backcountry. Should be a great sign for things to come!

Give me a call and let’s get out on the water.
