Everglades Fishing Report

It has been a rainy week here in South Florida with a few weather cancellations.  I would  probably say this is the best thing for the Everglades, so its not such a bad thing.  The fishing has been really good for snook and baby tarpon with a few bigger tarpon mixed in.  I expect it to get better and better as we move into the summer.  The big tarpon will start showing up in numbers in the next few weeks, which makes the Everglades the place to be.  I love summer fishing in the Glades because there is so many options. ...

Everglades Fishing Report

We are in full swing tarpon season with lots of fish moving in the Everglades and Oceanside of the keys.  Just to give you an idea of the schools of fish moving on the Oceanside, we got a great drone shot of a school of about 500 tarpon.   Some of the best fishing of the year in the Everglades is right around the corner.  The end of May and June are my favorite times to fish, especially if we get a lot of rain.  The snook start moving out to the coast and get ready to spawn and the tarpon start moving north and back into the Everglades in good...

Tarpon Fishing

Hope all is well.  I just got a last minute cancellation today, so I wanted to get out a quick report to let everyone know what is going on in the Everglades.   Currently, we are on some weak tides and haven’t seen a huge number of tarpon.  That should change any day now and  I expect it to really get going next week and into May. There are still plenty of fish in the Park and we have gotten into to them.  We have had some great days over the last few weeks and should only get better.  It is definitely my favorite time of year.   The baby tarpon has been really good lately.  We have been mostly sightfishing these little guys and they are a blast on a fly rod.  Great practice for the big boys!   I only have a few days left in May and June, so give me a call or respond tot his email to get out on the water!   All the best,   Capt. Everglades Fishing Report

Hope everyone has had a great weekend! The fishing in the Everglades has also been really good, but the weather always has a lot to do with what we are doing for the day. We were shaping for some great tarpon fishing until a late season cold front blew through and shut everything down. That is not typical for this time of year but every year is different. Since that cold snap, we have spend our time fishing for redfish, snook and baby tarpon. It has all been really good lately, when the big tarpon have not around. We have some warm weather predicted for the next few weeks, so it looks like the tarpon will move in. This is definitely my favorite time of the year! Most of my April is booked up but I do have a few days open late in the month. May is starting to fill up, so give me a call  to get out on the...
